I have always considered myself neither left-brained nor right-brained, but rather a balance of both. Creativity came naturally to me, but I was always very curious to learn and understand how things worked. To get the best of both worlds, I attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising to study Product Development and Business Management.

Win or Learn

As a daughter of Vietnamese immigrants, I adopted my parents' “all-in” mentality. They came to America with nothing but a pair of clothes, their courage, and the American Dream. I watched them build a life from nothing.

Following their example, I put the same determination into my career and personal life so I could work to reach my goals. I go about every day with the mentality that I will do what I can to improve my craft each day and that I can learn and grow from any adversity.

My Path to Human

Although I started in the Fashion industry, my career path took quite a few turns into various industries. I eventually transitioned into the Finance and Food Packaging & Distribution industries working in Sales and client-facing roles. My experience in these industries allowed me to build on my skills of communicating effectively and building relationships with clients.

As time passed, I found myself wanting to get back into the creative field. My interest in human behavior and design motivated me to switch to the UX (User-Experience) field.

To my surprise, much of the experience and skills I gained within my past roles integrated seamlessly into UX. My experience helped me to empathize and find practical solutions for end-users and required me to think outside the box, have solid communication skills and pay close attention to details. It channeled my desire to understand people all while keeping the user and business goals in mind.

What drew me to Human was the company’s emphasis on its people. I’ve always imagined working within a team that promotes growth, creativity, and the well-being of the company as a whole. I’m excited to not only contribute to the company’s growth but also to the growth of its clients.

When I’m not on the job, I enjoy keeping my body healthy through exercise and good food, my mind healthy through podcasts and books, and my soul happy through quality time with my dog.
